ABOUT US
Ozark Mountain Barnstormers, AMA #4350, was formed on October 4, 2001 to provide a place for radio control model airplane flyers to enjoy their hobby. The activities of the club are based around safely, building and flying model aircraft, sharing thoughts and ideas, promoting the hobby and sport of airplane modeling, and having an enjoyable time.
Members fly mainly sport aircraft including aerobatic, 3-D, combat, electric, sailplanes, trainers, and many other types of planes. The club sponsors fun flys and other events during the flying season and building sessions during the winter. Some events are for members only and some are open to any flyers as long as they have current AMA membership. Helicopters are not allowed. Check the website for information about upcoming events at the club.
As an Academy of Model Aeronautics chartered club, all flyers are required to be members of the AMA to fly at our field except for an introductory flight as described in the AMA rules.
Regular flying sessions are held on Wednesdays evenings until dark and Sundays from mid-day until dark during daylight savings time. Members fly many other times during the week as desired, however the regular sessions are the most reliable time to visit the field or to receive flight training.
Ozark Mountain Barnstormers maintains an alcohol and drug free flying site. No alcohol or drugs will be allowed at the club field at any time, nor will anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol knowingly be allowed to be on the premises at any time. Anyone not in compliance will be required to leave and membership will be terminated.
Currently the club has around 50 members.
